Jennifer Atilémile 2023: Puerto Rico
Jennifer Atilémile was photographed by Derek Kettela in Puerto Rico for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue along with fellow models Duckie Thot and Ellie Thumann.
Three years ago, Atilémile became Victoria’s Secret’s first Australian curve model. She has also worked with notable beauty brands like MERIT, Maybelline and Clarins. The Australian-French model is outspoken about sustainability in the fashion industry, and as a body positivity advocate, she uses her platform to encourage more widely-acceptable beauty standards. This is her first appearance in the SI Swimsuit Issue.
Rich in culture and history, Puerto Rico offers both thrilling adventure and ultimate relaxation. It’s a hot spot for authentic cuisine, exotic wildlife, breathtaking scenery and more. The archipelago located in the Caribbean Sea consists of one main island and four smaller islands, as well as numerous islets, all of which offer secluded sandy spots and immaculate views. It provided an unforgettable setting for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue.

The styling for Atilémile’s photo shoot in Puerto Rico was tagged “For the Love of Denim.” Each swimwear look was either fully denim or largely inspired by the blue jean motif and captured shades of denim across the spectrum. The SI Swimsuit team worked closely with designers to upcycle previously used materials into unique and chic looks that brought their funky vision to life.
